PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia is getting a taste of summer this week as the region experiences record heat.
Wednesday hit a high of 90 degrees in the city. The previous record was 88 degrees set back in 1941.
"Days like this, it feels good to happen and now get a little bit of a cool sensation while you're delivering. It's an awesome job," said Eric McClary, with Samuel and Son Seafood.
For those who aren't working, it's a gorgeous day to hit the links.
Action News was at Walnut Lane Golf Club in Roxborough, where the tee times were snatched up quickly.
"Happy to see everybody back out," said Kyle Spaulding, the director of golf at Walnut Lane Golf Club.
Dogs and their owners got out for an earlier stroll before temperatures climb too high.
"Usually, they would go to the park, but it's kind of too hot for them on days like this," said Ethan Paul, a dog owner in Manayunk.
The heat will continue into Thursday, with a high of 92 degrees, breaking the record of 90 degrees set back in 2002.
From there, we will begin a slow cool until the temps break on Monday, with cooler air dropping us into the mid-50s again for a more spring-like feel.
